Company History
1985 – FOUNDATION
Our company was established in 1985 in Mecidiyeköy, Istanbul, as a sole proprietorship under the name “Burak Ticaret Ali Ekrem Tanyolaç,” with the aim of supplying wholesale materials to hardware stores and stationery shops.
1991 – FURNITURE CASTERS
In that year, furniture casters were added to our product portfolio, marking the beginning of our long-standing relationship with furniture accessory retailers across the country. Additionally, we moved our operations to Çağlayan, which was the leading hub for furniture accessories at the time.
1996 – TRADE FAIR EXPERIENCE
The 1990s were the golden age of domestic trade fairs. Hardware and furniture sub-industry fairs showcasing innovations and imported products attracted significant interest. During a time when access to information and communication was limited, fairs became the most effective promotional channel.
Despite being a seller, our firm consistently participated in major fairs such as Nalburiye-Hırdavat and TÜYAP İntermob, which greatly contributed to our development and motivation.
2000 – “BURAK TEKER” BRAND
In 1998, the company relocated from Çağlayan to a much larger and more spacious store in Ümraniye-Çakmak Tepeüstü. In this 200 m² space, by becoming a main distributor of several caster brands, the company became a well-known and trusted name throughout Turkey.
Although we operated in the caster business for nearly a decade, we lacked a recognized brand name. The current name “BurakTeker” was coined by sales staff in the furniture accessory industry.
2002 – MANUFACTURING BEGINS
As our customer portfolio expanded to include DIY stores, furniture factories, and corporate clients, we realized we could not continue solely as a reseller. To offer more affordable, timely, and higher-quality products, we began manufacturing select product groups.
With manufacturing came investments in molds, machinery, and an increase in workforce. As a result, operations were moved first to İMES, and later to DES Industrial Zone in facilities covering 1,200 m².
In 2007, we established our own mold shop to rapidly produce custom designs in line with industry needs.
Today, the company owns nearly 30 intellectual property rights, including patents, utility models, and industrial designs, registered with the Turkish Patent Institute.
2011 – EXPORT OPERATIONS
We began export operations in 2011 with our participation in the Interzum Fair in Germany. We subsequently attended the same fair in 2013, 2017, and 2019.
Today, we export to over 20 countries, mainly in the European market.
2017 – BURAK TEKER INC.
In order to strengthen our presence in the growing Turkish market and on the global stage, we encountered bureaucratic limitations of operating as a sole proprietorship.
As our company grew and required more institutionalization, we officially became a joint-stock company (A.Ş.) in 2017.
2023 – THE YOUNGEST MANUFACTURER IN THE INDUSTRY
Our journey, which began in a 5 m² shop in Çağlayan, now continues in three separate facilities with a total indoor space of 4,000 m².
As the youngest manufacturing company in the industry, our achievements in a relatively short period are a testament to the trust, loyalty, and value given by our customers, business partners, and employees.
This journey is not just a reflection of our past but also reinforces our belief that we are on the right path as a contemporary company that respects human values and labor.
